Okay, I understand that this new virus has everybody on edge. And stores, either on-line or Amazon have adjusted their prices accordingly. In other words, some people might have to either: (a) go without, or (b) allow themselves to be gouged by the extremely high costs.
There was an article in the paper about the gouging by companies, such as Amazon, for Purell, or a similar product.
An example, this week on Amazon. four bottles of Purell, will set you back $348.00! Of course, that included free shipping! What a deal. Another company, was charging $79.00 for two 8 ounce bottles. Seriously? Have we all lost our minds?
Amazon is cracking down on third party vendors trying to make the most dollars of selling hand sanitizers. $40.00 for an 8 ounce bottle.
Thanks to the demand for hand sanitizers, stores such as CVS and Target have sold out of Purell. There's a customer who paid $80.00 for purse sized bottles.
The company, who makes Purell, has increased production significantly. On Ebay, you can buy a package of 10 portable travel size for a mere $75.00, along with a shipping cost of only $10.99. What a deal.
You can also buy a bulk lot of 75 purell bottles plus wipes for the very reasonable cost of $1,499.00! How many would you like?
But there is an alternative product and price. You can buy a 50 gallon drum for $1,746.00. It weighs 380 pounds. Shipping cost not mentioned. I suspect that if you can afford that truly gouging price, then the shipping cost doesn't matter. That drum will make a wonderful accessory (extra seat) for your living room!
At the moment, buying a hand sanitizer in a store right now, is pretty much like opening a oyster and expecting to see a pearl!
For the most part, being a recluse, can truly be a good thing - as far as germs go.
Thought for the day: Release stress by popping the bubbles of plastic packing materials! I agree that this is a lot of fun.
Enjoy today.
