Weather

8/2/2018

Mother Nature if truly a fickle lady. We have inches and inches of rain, and then no weather to speak of at all.

I don't know what I'm going to do with myself today. Carpets were cleaned on Tuesday and the house cleaned yesterday. I do have that nasty bit of laundry to do. Actually, the only thing nasty about it is, dragging the dirty clothes down and the clean clothes up! Throwing dirty clothes down the stairs is actually quite fun.  And, from that statement alone, you can tell that I'm a "tad" bored.

Last night, Jeff and I went to pick up and buy a changing table with drawers for my friend, who is expecting her first grandchild anytime now. I found the table on the community bulletin board, and she and I agreed it would be a loss to not try and buy it.  Luckily, the furniture did "fit" with some effort in the back of my car.

I'd like to get back to driving again.  I haven't driven since hitting the building. Actions like that don't instill confidence in either myself or Jeff.  It's time to head to an empty parking lot for practice. We did this a couple of times when I came home in 2013.  So, getting back driving, will be akin to getting back on the horse.

Installing the new fence is supposed to be tomorrow. I don't know if rain will get in the way of this project or not. The work on our adjoining property line will obviously be the first part of the job. Our challenge is to keep the dogs either: (a) inside; or (b) sit outside with them with the orange construction barrier stretched across that part of the yard.

We're making plans to pick up Benjamin probably on Saturday and keep him with us until Tuesday. Sunday is work on the plane day, so perhaps Benjamin can throw the ball back and forth to Bella, careful to watch for planes obviously.  It is an airport after all. Perhaps, we could also bring his little scooter propelled only by his feet. While the men will be fully engaged, and enjoying the cleaning up of the plane, we "watchers" (women), will really have nothing to do, except talk.

Since Stacey is sleeping over on Monday night, because we have to be at the hospital for my little procedure by 8:00, this will work out for her, because she doesn't have to get Benjamin ready also.

If I find myself with "spare" time (insert smiley face here), then I am going to take all the paid bills, with our portion of the check, in the shred bucket. In my old age, I have decided that if there was a bill in dispute, it would have resolved itself by now. There is so much paper involved, it might be easier to take them out to Andrew's fire pit and burn them all.  Can't decide, though it should be an easy decision. Hours spent shredding these documents and pouring the shred contents into one of those large plastic bags, or toss them into the fire pit and have a huge bonfire. Marshmallows anyone?

While I'm enjoying our chat, time to put my rear in gear.  Have a good day.
