Today, is Columbus Day. This is a holiday generally only observed by government, county and city employees. Jeff falls under county employee. It gives him another day off, which he certainly deserves since he spends so much time commuting to and from work every day.
Yesterday, I took my rollator out for a spin. I did five (this is huge for me) turns around the circle in the middle of the street. After those five rounds, my hip reminded me why I don't walk for enjoyment! Today, I'll walk around the circle again, probably just five rounds. My body is hideously out of shape and it takes very little to get me winded. Sad to say, but oh so true.
Watched the debate last night. While watching I couldn't help but think could the event people have gotten more uncomfortable chairs/stools for the candidates to sit on. Perch is all they did. Admittedly, they were walking around talking to the audience, but when they went back to their respective spots, they perched. Had to be uncomfy.
It feels like autumn today - brisk and cool. When Jeff gets home, it will probably be a leaf day. Our oak tree is sprouting it's first yellow and orange leaves. These leaves are beautiful and I wish they would just stay on the tree. Jeff blows all the leaves into a pile. My job, which I hate by the way, is to pick up said leaves.
Jeff spent yesterday at Scott's house, so I didn't have to cook dinner. I ate a chicken pot pie, which wasn't all that tasty, but quieted my grumbley tummy.
I've been trying to feed the puppies once a day, or at the very least twice a day with the second feeding early in the afternoon. I do not know how two puppies can generate so much poo. Yesterday, I shampooed the carpets downstairs. Today, I'll have Jeff drag the shampooer upstairs and do the bedroom.
I have just taken the puppies out and have set my alarm for 45 minutes. When the timer goes off, I'll "escort" the girls outside. If they wouldn't run away, it would be much easier to take them out into the front yard.
It might be a good day for Jeff to make soup. We have a roaster chicken in the refrigerator and he makes really good soup.
